Learn

One board, ten lessons, from the numbers to the cut.

Learning ShaperLab Pro is a course by project: a single board, “My first board”, built lesson by lesson. Every lesson starts where the last one ended, and you can download the project file to follow along. 15 min 56 s in total.

01The series

Learning ShaperLab Pro.

Narrated in English, with lesson cards, step cards and captions. Where you end up: 6'1" × 20 5/8" × 2 3/8" · 32.0 L · thruster FCS II · est. 2.37 kg (PU, 4+4 oz).

02Advanced

The change order.

Six episodes that follow the series: the customer comes back and wants their board turned into a fish, with more litres, channels and a beak nose. Every episode starts from the last one’s file, with the original loaded as a ghost to measure each change in Compare. 7 min 52 s in total; from 6'1" × 20 5/8" × 2 3/8" (32.0 L, thruster) to a 5'8" × 22 5/8" × 2 5/8" fish (35.7 L, twin keel FCS II) with channels, beak nose and wings.

  1. 01

    The change order

    1:15

The customer asks for a fish. Rename it and set the Fish category in Board info, Save As "My fish", load the original as a ghost, free Resize to 5'8" × 21 1/2" × 2 1/2", and Compare against the ghost.

Project file at the end of this episode· .shaperlab
  2. 02

    The fish tail

    1:13

Board › Tail shape › Fish, notch rails (3 1/2" deep, tip half-width 4 1/4"), the tail from below, and twin keel fins on FCS II.

Project file at the end of this episode· .shaperlab
  3. 03

    More litres

    1:13

Smart Functions › Target volume 36 L by width and thickness, Compare: +4 L over the original, the volume distribution, and flotation with a 75 kg rider.

Project file at the end of this episode· .shaperlab
  4. 04

    Channels

    1:09

3D Layers: crisp channels, Standard 4, a vee section with pointed tips, and a check of the bottom with level lines.

Project file at the end of this episode· .shaperlab
  6. 06

    Check and deliver

    1:40
